Mission - Roy Lee Bullard Sr., 86, went to join our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:30pm. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Roy was born on February 19th, 1931 to Harvey William and Carrie Ann Landis Bullard in Tupelo, OK, who preceded him in death. He had 5 sisters and 1 brother. Sisters Clara Anderson and Ruby May Regan preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister Jody Atwell of Tulsa, OK, Robert "RC" Bullard of Columbus, KS, Nancy Smith of Tupelo, OK, and Mary Lou Felkins of Ada, OK, along with many nieces and nephews. During his studies he loved to play basketball. He married the love of his life and wife of 65 years Bernice McGowan Bullard on September 7th, 1951. Shortly after they married Roy joined the Army and was deployed to the Korean War. After receiving many medals of Honor Roy left the Army with an Honorable discharge as a Corporal. When he returned they had 5 children together, and he worked in the Oil Field for 42 years where he retired as a Tool Pusher. He is survived by his wife Bernice of Mission, TX, Roy Lee Bullard Jr. of Irving, TX and his 2 sons, Dennis Bullard of Mission, TX and his wife Irene and 1 son, Cynthia Bullard Wayland of Edinburg, TX and her 2 children, Wendell Bullard of Garland, TX, and Mark Bullard of McAllen, TX. Roy also leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Roy Lee will always be remembered as a loving and quiet man that loved his family always and very proud of his crew. He was a man of few words who loved to travel and see the country. Roy was proud member of the Choctaw Nation. In his free time he loved fishing and he also loved to grow his own vegetables, peppers, okra, and tomatoes. Roy was also a handy man who could fix anything and remodeled his home for his family. Roy's passion for anything with a motor was not limited to a truck, but he could work anything with a motor. He was a man of great faith and love for our Lord as an Assembly of God member. He will be loved and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28th, 2017 at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home.

I always enjoyed dealing with Roy and Bernice as they were very easy going, friendly and courteous. I learned a lot about the oil field business from Roy. He lived a beautiful life.
Bernice, take care, stay safe and keep smiling. God Bless.

I worked with Mr. Bullard at Willis Drilling in Edinburg. He was very respectful and a very nice man. May his family take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord. May he rest in peace.

My family you are in my thoughts and prays. A loss is never easy, and doesn't really get easier. Uncle Roy Lee was always a quite man with a big smile. If you ever need me, I am just a phone call away. Love you all.
