Roy E. Flynn, born on September 9, 1936 in Boston MA, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2023 in Pfafftown NC. He was a loving husband to Sue Flynn and a devoted father to Edward Flynn, Susan Flynn, Daniel Flynn and his wife Nancy, Mary Gonski and her husband John, Dianne Kelley and her husband Tony, Joseph Flynn, Sheila Lapine and her husband Dan, Tammy Phinney and her husband Tom, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was known for his hard work and dedication to his job. He worked for RJ Devereaux laying natural gas lines in the Boston area for most of his working career.

Roy was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served his country honorably and was proud of his service.

Roy often said that he had lived a full life and got to do everything he wanted to do. He was a founding member of the Connecticut Reining Horse Association and a long time member of the National Reining Horse Association. He won multiple National Reining Horse Association awards and donated countless hours to the reining horse industry.

Roy lost his battle with colon cancer, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Roy's name to Trellis Supportive Care of Winston Salem NC (the hospice association that kept him comfortable in his passing).

Roy was a man of great character and integrity. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness and occasional grouchiness, his sense of humor, and his unwavering commitment to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
