ROY HILLER Obituary
Age 93, died in his Penn Hills home Thursday, November 2, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Helyn C. Hiller; and the loving father of three children, Roy E. (Norma) Hiller, III, Richard L. (Myrna) Hiller and Diane C. Recklein; seven grandchildren, Bob Hiller, Amy (Hiller) Underwood, Melissa Hiller, John and Dan Recklein, Hannah Hiller and Gretchen (Hiller) Shelley; seven great-grandchildren; and beloved cousin of Harriet W. Kistler. Roy was a proud combat veteran of the 20th Armored Infantry Division during World War II that liberated the Dachau concentration camp. The family will celebrate his life with friends at a reception following a Memorial Service to be held at the East Liberty Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017. Memorials in Roy's memory may be made to East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 South Highland Ave., Pgh. PA 15206 or a charity of one's choice.

Dear Richard, Myrna and the whole Hiller Family,
Joe and I are ever grateful to have had so many wonderful memories over the years at ELPC with Roy. The stability of his faith was evident in the way he served the nation as well as this community. He showed curiosity, commitment and caring by participating in such things as the Contemporaries Sunday school Class, the EECM Shelter Meal Group and the Toy Ministry, to name just a few. He will be missed but not forgotten.

I'll never forget Mr. Hiller leading a rousing group sing of the Andrews Sisters' "Bugle Boy of Company B" on the bus during his WWII unit's final reunion in 2013.
