I was good friends with Roy back at Winneconne High School. After graduation I left for school in Michigan, but on visits back to Wisconsin I did meet him several times and he always made me laugh. I am sorry to hear about his passing so late after it happened, but just wanted his family to know I always thought him to be a guy of great kindness and cared for people and animals.
Sincerely,
Dan Witt

I have many wonderful memories of spending time the all the "kids" in the Luedtke family in my youth. I remember Roy as being a quiet guy with a great sense of humor.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family during these difficult times.

Have known Roy for over 30 years or so as a colleague. He was a great coach and mentor to many. Every time when I think of Roy I see his big smile. He will be missed by many. Wish him peace in His abode.

Sue, Jason, and family.
I'm so sorry to hear about Roy. He will truly be missed. He was such a nice, friendly person every time I had the pleasure of being around him. He always brightened the room with his fun character. He will always remain in my heart as "Uncle" Roy.

To Roy's Family, I'm saddened deeply to hear of Roy's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I got to know Roy early in my career with Pioneer, when he was still in Grand Forks, then occasionally being able to visit at meetings over the years. I so enjoyed my brief visits with him. He was a kind gentleman that positively influenced who he interacted with.

Sue,
It is with deep sadness that tonite I learned of the loss of Roy through a fellow classmate. May you find the strength to carry on in the days ahead. Reflect often on the wonderful times you shared together. It may relieve the pain of loss a little.
Your classmate George.

I'm so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. As one of Roy's "summer kids" from the late 1980's, I'll always remember his kind demeanor - even when things were a little stressful (like when I had an allergic reaction to pollen and Roy spent his day in the ER with me instead of in the field!). 30 years later, I'm trying to emulate his actions with my own employees. A wonderful man to have as my "first boss".
My sincere thoughts and prayers to your family.

I was very shocked to hear of Roy's passing. I enjoyed working with him at Pioneer, trying to bring breeders and molecular biologists together through the then novel science of genomics.

To the family of Roy,
Words cannot express my sorrow upon hearing about Roy's passing. I had the opportunity of working with Roy and had nothing but the utmost respect for him. A fine gentleman and I am sure a wonderful husband and father.
My deepest condolences are extended to you.
God bless you.

Sue, Jason and Family: I will never forget the time when the Luedtke cousins(7-12 yr.olds) were playing on the swing set on the home farm one warm summer evening and Roy Jr. was telling us how great heaven and being with Jesus was going to be.
RJL, Rest in Peace until we meet again!
