Roy "Peden" Nash, Corinth, Miss., died Oct. 18, 2003, at his home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, Corinth, with the Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors is in charge.Visitation will follow the service in the church parlor.Mr. Nash was a local businessman, owner of Lee Highway Floral for all his adult life. Lee Highway Floral was established in 1922 by his mother, Florence Holley Nash.Mr. Nash remained active in the business until January of 2003. He was the oldest floral designer in north Mississippi. For years, he was known for the cultivation of cut flowers and flowering plants from his greenhouses. He was a member of the Mr. Nash was a past member of the Kiwanis Club, the Elks and the Hillandale Country Club. He was a 1936 graduate of Corinth High School, where he was a member of the football team and attended the University of Alabama. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church, he was recognized as the longest living member of the church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth Hall Nash, Corinth; two daughters and spouses, Patricia N. and Chris Burns, Florence, Ala., Ruth Hall and Bill Willoughby, of Plano, Texas; two nieces, Holley Lee and Sally Molphus; and his name sake, Rebecca Peden Massey; stepgrandchildrin, Laurie Franks and husband, Kenny, of Florence; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kace Franks and Allison Franks.
