Funeral services for Roy M. Ray, 62, of Tyler will be noon Saturday at College Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marcus L. Jackson Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Community Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mr. Ray died April 29, 2012, at East Texas Medical Center.

He was born July 20, 1949, in Troup. He graduated from Arp High School and received an Associate of Business degree from Tyler Junior College. He resided in Smith County a total of 37 years, relocating to Oklahoma for 11 years and currently residing in Smith County for the last 11 years.

He was a faithful member of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and male chorus member.

He was a supervisor for GE/Trane for 15 years. He was a production field engineer for ExxonMobil for 28 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodrick Rayshun Ray; and parents, Lorenza Ray Sr. and Mozell Adams-Ray.

Survivors include wife, Sonya G. Ray of Tyler; sons, Adrian Demarcus Ray of Dallas and Derrick Leon Hankins Jr. (Tashona) of Dallas; daughters, LaTonya Michelle Ray of Tyler and Kemisha T. Burks-Davis of Dallas; brothers, Lorenza Ray Jr. (Susan) of Tyler and Morris Ray of Tyler; grandchildren, Alanni Davis, Khori Davis and Jakyri L. Hankins, all of Dallas.

Active pallbearers will be deacons of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church and Texas Lone Star Officials Association.

Honorary pallbearers are Gary Adams, Ronnie Adams, Corey Adams, Vernon Jones and Demarcus Howard.

Viewing will be from 3 to 6:45 p.m. Friday at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church. Celebration of Life Musical will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church.
