Roy Robinson

Roy Robinson (formerly Mervin Leroy Robinson Jr.), age 76, of Algona, WA, gained his heavenly wings on March 5, 2025. Roy was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and raised in Roselle Park, NJ, graduating from RPHS in 1966.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Newport News in Vietnam. He lived in Cranford, NJ for many years where he volunteered and camped at the town's Cranford West campground. He was an experienced spelunker and once helped rescue trapped cavers. His other hobbies included hiking, golf and photography, particularly of wild animals.

In 1990, Roy moved to Seattle and later began playing pool where he met Donna Campbell, whom he married in 1995. They played in leagues and competed in local and national tournaments including one in Las Vegas where they placed 5th in 9-Ball. Pool was the center of their lives and where they made many close friends.

Roy worked as a machinist for most of his career. Since retiring in 2017, he ran his own laser marking and engraving business, Mountain View Laser Works.

Roy was predeceased by his son Eric, who passed of leukemia in 2007, a devastating loss, his parents Mervin Sr. & Doris Robinson, and sister Denise (& Gary) Hansen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Donna; daughters Sara Robinson (& Terrell Bethea) of Parlin, NJ, and Sabrina Salcido of Buckley, WA; granddaughters Riley Bethea and Destiny Salcido; sisters Ginny Santos of Linden, NJ, Nancy Swaffard of Wenatchee, WA, Cindi (& Gregg) Arteglier of Marathon, NY, Darci (& Gordy) Sanborn of Kalispell, MT, Delayne (& Foster) Sensibaugh of Ulm, MT; brother Dean (& Diane) Whitmore of Wolf Creek, MT; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Per Roy's wishes, there will be no services. A pool tournament is being planned for early summer to remember and celebrate his life.
