Roy Carson Trent BRISTOL, Va. Roy Carson Trent, age 84, a well-known resident of the Smith Creek Community, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Greystone Health Care in Blountville, Tenn. He was born April 5, 1926, in Washington County, Va., a son of the late Calvin Frank Trent and Maye Gill Trent. He lived his entire life in Washington County. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Hassie Elizabeth Trent; one sister, Betty Sue Trent Campbell; and one brother, Fred Trent. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Mitchell Trent of Bristol Virginia; one son, Timothy Trent and wife Gayle of Bristol Virginia; one granddaughter, Lianna Trent; one grandson, Nicholas Trent; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Inez Trent, Jim Campbell, Kathy and Larry Henderson, Lonnie and Ellen Sheppard, Larry and Evelyn Mitchell, Mike and Linda Mitchell, and Sue Wright; and very special friends, Gary and Teresa Pendry. Graveside services for Roy Carson Trent will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Military services will be conducted by Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Frost Funeral Home or anytime at the home, 12023 Smith Creek Road.
