Oh mom.
I miss you.
The “Apple of Your Eye” will be graduating with her Masters degree in Archeology this May and I know you would be so very proud. She has worked so hard and even sited some of your Anishinaábé stories in her work.
Your grandson is getting ready for his Anishinaábé Coming of Age Ceremony. I wish you were here in physical form to help me through the process. Though at times I feel like you’re whispering guidance to me.
You left behind two very strong daughters and many grandchildren who carry your lessons, stories, and memory’s on and on. It brings me joy to know and acknowledge this.
I know this is just being written to your online memorial but it brings me comfort to feel like I’m writing just to you. I can almost envision you sitting by a sunny window reading your correspondence and smiling. That’s what I have pictured in my heart.
Love you mom. Always and always.

Honoring your legacy, Mom. I visited your grave again a few days ago to leave more flowers, including some from your grandson's wedding last week. You would have been so proud!
