To Jean and Julie and the entire Yarbrough family,
I had heard wonderful things about Rual Yarbrough growing up in Killen from musically inclined family and friends but I didn't have a chance to meet Rual until later in life when I walked into a Barber shop in Sheffield and asked this new barber what he had in that banjo case. After that I looked forward to getting a haircut and listening to Rual talk about Bluegrass, Banjos and Musicians in general. It was my good fortune to know Rual and I will be thinking of him when my children are enjoying the instruments he worked on for me. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Rual came into my life at a very early age after the death of my father when I was 2 years old. Rual became my step-father, and no man in my life ever treated me better than he did. Rual you will always be in my heart forever. Miss you!

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. I had a heartful of love and respect for Rual. I felt he was one of my closest friends. I will never forget the great privilege of knowing him, playing music with him, and enjoying the wonderful fellowship that we shared. God bless you all, and may He be with you in your time of sorrow.

I met Rual in 1972 and it seems I lived at his store (like hundreds of other players did) in Muscle Shoals until he finally moved it. Bought my first decent banjo from him and still have it. He was a great man and anyone who knew him is better for it. He is truly missed..

I always enjoyed any time I spent with Rual, talking banjos, picking banjos, listening to banjo pickers. He always had time for any one with questions or needing help. A true Southern Gentleman who made this world a better place and will be missed greatly by so many people. My thoughts are with you folks and your loss. Peace

Kathy & Janet,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Your entire family is in my prayers. You may not remember me but I lived at Powell & was a friend of JoAnn's. I can remember us visiting your parent's & we would play while the grown ups talked. God Bless all of you.
