Ruby Ann Age

Ruby Ann Age was born in Union, LA on March 13, 1935, to the late Edward and Alma Folse. She was the youngest daughter of her siblings. Ruby was united in holy matrimony to the late Arthur Vincent Age on August 30, 1958. Ruby graduated from Xavier University in education and worked and loved being a teacher until she retired in 1992 from Johnson Lockett School. She served in many capacities as a teacher; one being a Brownie Leader with Troop 102. She was an affectionate and caring person who was extremely faithful to her Catholic faith. She was a part of the rosary group for her neighborhood. Ruby also was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #60. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and going out to eat at various local restaurants. Even though Ruby didn't have any children of her own she cherished and adored her God children, Monica Davis & her son Sherman Davis, Catrice Walker & her son Christopher Smith, Ruby Piper, Raymond Bonnee and Aulston Taylor, and her Special Friend, Avery Hunter. On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the age of 88, Ruby took her rest. She is survived by her dear sister Lois Ricard, brother-in-law Burnell Age (Barbara), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur V. Age, brothers Earl Folse (Jacqueline) & Edward Folse, Jr. (Alice), brothers-in-law: Clifton Ricard, Louis, Clifton, Melvin, Lawrence and Albert Age and sisters-in-law: Bernadette Griffin and Lois Crawford. Family, friends and members of Corpus Christi Catholic Church are invited to attend Ruby's Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, for 10:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Ave., New Orleans, LA 70116. Visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M. which will include the resighting of the Rosary and Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary presentation. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery #3.
