BIG STONE GAP, VA – RUBY EILEEN BAKER, 88
Ruby Eileen Baker, age 88 of Big Stone Gap, VA went to be with the Lord after a brief period of declining health on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at NOVA Health and Rehab in Weber City, VA.
She was born in Lee County, VA on January 27, 1934 to the late Mary Rogers Webb. In addition to her mother, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Eugene Baker and son, Verlin Baker. Mrs. Baker enjoyed quilting and cooking for her friends and family as she was an excellent cook.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Angela Baker Constant (James); 3 grandsons, Kevin Baker (Catherine), Eric Constant and Evan Constant; 2 great-grandchildren, Willow Baker and Kimble Baker; special neighbor and friend, Amy Parsons (Marty) and their children, Jordan, Hunter and Rileigh.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. Funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Wayne Thomas officiating.
Interment will follow at Baker Cemetery in the Cliff Mountain Community. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to NOVA Health and Rehab for their excellent care.
