Ruby Lefler Willis Barham, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 29, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by family and her beloved dog, Patches.
Ruby was born in Greensboro, NC, on June 30, 1945. She worked at Lane Furniture in Rocky Mount, VA, and retired from Guilford Mills in Greensboro. After retirement, Ruby and her late husband, Danny Barham, moved to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Ruby loved to spend time at the beach, travel and watch her granddaughters play soccer and basketball. She never met a stranger and loved being with people. Her favorite trips included Hollywood, California, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Bahamas, and St. Lucia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lucille Page Lefler, and her sister Mary Lee Lefler Brewer.
Her last years were spent in Wilmington, NC, where she moved to be closer to family. Dr. Fonebi and her caring team at the Zimmer Cancer Center played a large role in making Ruby's cancer journey a positive experience, despite the outcome. She was so appreciative of their love, support and making her visits fun.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Westminster Gardens Greensboro, NC.
