RUBY JEAN HURLEY DAVIS went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Oct 15, 2017. Born June 26, 1930, to F.M and Sarah Hunt Hurley, Ruby Jean was married for 69 years to James A. "Jimmy" Davis, who survives. Also surviving are sons, James F. "JF" of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Greg Davis of Lexington, Ky., and their wives Marcia and Carla respectively. Surviving grandchildren include Chad Davis of Jacksonville, Fla., Andrew Davis (Sydeana) of Gainesville, Fla., Adam Davis (Somer) of Paris, Ky., and Grant Davis of Lexington, Ky. Ruby Jean and Jimmy were blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Sadi, Danielle, Grace, Connor, Gavin, Case and Claire Davis. Ruby Jean and Jimmy operated Jimmy's Shoe Store in Williamson, W.Va., for 47 years before retiring to Lexington in 2000. She loved playing the piano, and did so while assisting Jimmy in his ministry for many years. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Kerr Brothers, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, with a short service prior to interment at Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
