Mrs. Ruby Wainwright Dunn, 79, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dunn was a longtime resident of Pitt County. She worked for McClellan's Five and Dime as store manager and also for Women Only Fitness where she taught aerobics and worked in daycare. Ruby loved to cook and was known for her BBQ, her love of country music, and Carolina basketball. Mrs. Ruby was adored by her family for her loving and kind nature and will be forever remembered in the legacy she leaves for her family. She was a member of the East Greenville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dunn; and a son in-law, Terry Rhue.
She is survived by her son, Edward Gray Dunn Jr. and wife, Emily, of Augusta, Ga.; daughters, Patricia D. Carter and husband, Don, of Greenville, and Judy D. Rhue of Raleigh; grandchildren, Tracy D. Story and husband, Chuck, Jeremy K. Dunn and wife, Tonya, Kellie Dunn Story and husband, Jeff, Ashlee P. Blanton and husband, Marlin, all of Augusta, Ga., Dusty Carter and wife, Elizabeth, of Greenville, Christopher Mark Carter of Greenville, and Scott Rhue and wife, Rachael, of Raleigh; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Tommie Wainwright of Greenville; and sister, Barbara Jean Page and husband, Ed, of Branford, Conn.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Patricia D. Carter.

I'm very sorry of the lost of your mother and grand mother, and a

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
