GREENSBORO — Ruby Alice Gray, age 93, of Heritage Greens of Greensboro died Friday, December 7, 2012. Ms. Gray was born December 23, 1918 in Randleman the daughter of John Oscar and Kate Brewer Gray. Ruby was the last surviving child in a family of nine children.
Ms. Gray was a native of Randolph County and a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Randleman where she had been active in numerous departments. She was also a charter member of the Beta Nu Chapter of the teacher's Sorority Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a retired teacher and taught for many years at Randleman High School and for a number of years at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C.
Ruby is survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, as well as several of her former students, all of whom she cherished.
The family will receive friends this evening, Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street in Randleman. The funeral service will be held at the First Wesleyan Church, 125 Tabernacle Street in Randleman with Rev. Don Hurlburt and Rev. Al Nucomb officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Randleman.

Ms. Gray was a great person and teacher. She influenced me more positively than any other teacher I had, and I will miss her.
