Ruby A. Hicks

Ruby A. Hicks, 90, of Farmington, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 14, 2009, in Farmington. She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Farmington, to Albert Porter and Amanda Elizabeth "Bess" Blake. Her grandfather, Sylvester R. Blake, was one of the pioneers who first helped settle Farmington.
Ruby lived in Farmington and Bloomfield until 1989, when she moved to Alaska to live with her daughter, Loydale McDonald. In March 2006, she returned to Farmington, where she resided until her passing.
Ruby loved life and her God. She lived her life to the fullest. Ruby loved her family and friends and treated them with guiding love. She will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Alberta Schenck, Maxine Phillips, Lou Ella Dallas and Grace Hayes; her brother, James (Jim) Blake; and her oldest daughter, Goldia E. Doane.
She is survived by her sister, Paula Briggs; brother, Albert Porter Blake; her sons, Blake Hicks and wife, Kathy, Albert (Lanny) Hicks and wife, Lynn, and Mike Hicks and wife, Carolyn; her daughter, Loydale McDonald and husband, Darrell;
11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 18, at The Church of Christ Eastside, 2012 Huntzinger Ave., in Farmington.
