Ruby Lomax Jackson

Ruby Lomax Jackson HODGES -- Mrs. Ruby Mae Lomax Jackson, 97, widow of the late Lowell Jackson, of 918 Miller Road, died on Monday, June 15, 2015 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Eddie Lomax and Eula Coleman Lomax. She was raised by her grandparents the late Reverend Charles and Rebecca Aiken Coleman. She was educated in the public schools of Greenwood County. She joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Superintendent and former Sunday School Teacher, Adult Choir Member and the Church Missionary. She was also a member of Women Aide Society No. 91 and member of the Hodges/Cokesbury Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband; her eldest son, Roosevelt Jackson; one sister, Ola Keller; three brothers, Nathaniel Lomax, Eddie Lee Lomax and Theodore Lomax. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Vernell J. Klugh of Greenwood, SC, Eula J. (Samuel) Byrd and Dorothy J. Spencer, both of Hodges, SC, Vera J. (Johnny) Grant of Candler, NC; one daughter-in-law, Linda Burns Jackson of Hodges, SC; three sons, John A. (Barbara) Jackson of Abbeville, SC, Michael (Julia) Jackson of Greenwood, SC, and Rufus L. Jackson of the home; one sister, Joan L. Felton of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters-in-law, Abbie Bea Jackson, Bernice Barmore, and Larnice Anderson, all of Lexington, NC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A celebration of life will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery, The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. The family will receive visitations on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Parks Funeral Home, 514 Hackett Avenue, Greenwood, SC. The family is at the home. Service entrusted to Parks Funeral Home.
