Ruby Lamb Obituary

Published by Evanston Review from Jan. 6 to Jan. 12, 2011.
Lamb, Ruby June (nee Behen) July 15, 1922 December 27, 2010 June passed away from a broken heart. She missed her husband, James Donald Lamb, of 65 years so much she decided to be with him for New Year's and dance the night away. June was born in Arthur, Illinois. Her father, Ernest Behen, was a factory worker at Progress and her mother was a great cook and housewife. She had an older sister, Ernetta Ohnesorge, who loved her and watched out for June, as she grew older. June graduated from Arthur High School and worked at Caterpillar in Decatur, Illinois during WWII doing bookkeeping. Following the war, she was a beauty operator in Arthur. June was an active member of the American Woman's Club of London and the Glenview Woman's Club. June was married to her high school sweet heart the summer of 1945. She and James lived in Chicago until moving to London in 1958 and then back to the Chicago area (Glenview) in 1964. Their lovely Daughter, Cheryl Ann, was born in 1948 and their Grandson, Brent Daniel Kaziny, MD, was born in 1977. In 2007 June and her husband moved from Chicago to Houston, Texas to be closer to her daughter and her husband, Daniel Kaziny. All who knew June, including Len and Ernetta Ohnesorge of Arthur, Chancey and Lynett Ball of Decatur, Brian, Heather, Charlotte and Brady Ball of White Heath, Ben and Jodi Egan of Erlanger, KY, as well as, Susan Jang of Salt Lake City, thought of her as the perfect Mother and Lady. Always loving, always there, always perfectly dressed. She did everything to perfection. All that are left behind will miss her smile and her butterscotch pie. We that loved her and now miss her take comfort in knowing that as she walks with God down the winding path to her new home, Jim (with a big smile) and the loved ones that have gone before, await her arrival with loving open arms. We will see you again someday. A simple service will be conducted at the Schrader's Funeral Home in Arthur on Thursday 6 January at 11:30 am. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation to the University of Texas Medical School at Houston be made to support student scholarships. UTMSH Student Scholarships P. O. Cheryl and Dan,
We are so sorry for your loss. Cheryl, you are a perfect lady, just like your mom. Butterscotch pie, always loving, always dressed to perfection. Those descriptors describe you as well. Your mother lives in you. Love you lots! Vivian and Luis

Cheryl, Dan and Brent,
I can't believe that they're gone. There was something wonderfully comforting knowing that Aunt June and Uncle Jim were just a car ride away (when they were in Glenview). I miss them but am so glad to know that they are together again.
Love,
Julie (Steve and Johanna too)

Cheryl, Dan, Brent, and Grandma,
June will be missed greatly. Some of my favorite memories are of the holidays in Chicago. Our shopping trips to Old Orchard were always the best! So sorry we couldn't make it home but our prayers will be with everyone tomorrow. It's comforting knowing that June and Jim can be together again.
Love,
Ben & Jodi

Dear Cheryl, Dan, and Brent,
I am so sorry to hear about Ruby June's death. She was such a loving person--always with a ready smile. She loved you all and was so very proud of the wonderful family you are. She and Jim were so thankful for your care and support. Now they will enjoy eternity together in health and happiness.
My thoughts and prayers are with you,
Teresa
