Ruby Lee King Riley

Ruby Lee King Riley, 83, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. She was born November 19, 1927, to Odessa Peveto King and Wesley King in Orange, Texas. She lived in the Groves area for 64 years. Ruby worked as an insurance clerk for ten years and as a beautician for ten years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. Ruby and her husband Floyd were married for 65 years, until his death in June. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always put everyone above herself and was always there for her family. Ruby was a real matriarch of the family, being a rock for the family to lean on and truly genuine and loving person. She loved to sing. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 20, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. till service time at Clayton Thompson. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson, with Dr. Elvin Gibson, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Lee Riley of Groves, Texas; her sons, John W. Riley of Bronson, Texas, Paul A. Riley and wife, Diana of Lumberton, Texas; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Maydell King of Groves, Texas; and her brother, John Wesley King and his wife, Reba of Bronson, Texas; along with several nieces and nephews.
