Ruby Smith

Funeral services for Ruby Lunsford Smith, age 94, of Tyler, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2018 in the New Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Robbie Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. Ruby died Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Garland Memory Care in Garland, Texas. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on September 15,1923 to the late Ora Lester and Malissa Mae (Mays) Lunsford and was formerly of Quitman, Texas before moving to Tyler in 1956. Ruby retired after 44 years with Roosth & Genecov Production and was very active in her church at New Harmony Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Coy Smith in 2008; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Ruby is survived by her son, Dallas Paul Smith of Rockwall, Texas; sister, Pat Spencer of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; brothers & sisters-in-law, Leo & Norma Lunsford of Terrell, Texas and Bobby & Hazel Lunsford of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren, Dallas Lynn Smith and wife, Angela of Lindale, Texas, Paul Christopher Smith and wife, Shannon of Allen, Texas and Sara Beth Otte and husband, Robert of Sicily; great grandchildren, Trey Oliver, Topanga Oliver, Karlie Smith, Kaylon Smith, Alyson Smith, and Andrew Smith; great-great granddaughter, Trinity Oliver and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service Friday, January 19, 2018. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, www.gideons.org
