RUBY JANE JENKINS SPICER

Ruby Jane Jenkins Spicer Ruby Jane Jenkins Spicer, 99, of Warrenton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Warrenton Overlook Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 12, 1911 in Rappahannock County to the late Herbert Casper and Ida Burke Jenkins.

Mrs. Spicer was the oldest living member of Forest Grove Baptist Church and in her later years attended New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her children, Marion S. Coates and her husband, Charlie of Culpeper, Ruth S. Leach of Midland, Carlton C. Spicer and his wife, Allegra of Ruckersville, daughter-in-law, June S. Spicer of Warrenton, sisters-in-law, Sarah Y. Jenkins and Betty L. Jenkins, both of Amissville, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, her special cousin, Audrey J. Jenkins and her special niece, Dorothy C. Woodward.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Alfred Spicer, three children, Edna Joyce Nalls, Hazel June Pote and Thomas Elliot Spicer, her siblings, Gid S. Jenkins, Raymond C. Jenkins, John R. Jenkins, Elmer T. Jenkins, Eugene R. Jenkins, Pearl J. Palmer, Sylvia J. Cloud Armentrout and one grandchild, Karen Pote.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sanford L. Martin officiating. Immediately following the service the family will have a time of fellowship and refreshment in the New Salem Baptist Church fellowship hall.

A graveside committal service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chuck Coates, Carty Spicer, Jeff Nalls, Randy Nalls, Beau Spicer and Mike Yeager.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to the staff of Warrenton Overlook Health and Rehabilitation Center for the love and compassion shown to Mrs. Spicer throughout her stay.
