Ruby Lena Stanfield, 92, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Stanfield was born May 6, 1920, in Florence, Missouri, the daughter of the late George and Eda Semkin. She married Raymond Dickey in 1939 and he preceded her in death. She married Bernard Stanfield in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by five
brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Stanfield began her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company on January 27, 1950. She worked for them until her retirement in December 1978. She was a lifetime member of The Elks Auxiliary Sedalia Lodge #125
BPOE and served as President in 1981. She was also a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and served as President in 1974. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ her entire life.

Mrs. Stanfield enjoyed life to its fullest. She was a very social person and loved spending time with family and friends. She loved to travel and read books. She was an avid card player enjoying the games of Bridge and Pinochle with her friends. She also enjoyed playing Mahjongg. Stanfield (Bernard Cuddy), of Cambridge, Massachusetts; brother, Dr. Dennis Semkin, of Wickenburg, Arizona; and sister, Angeline Ehlers, of Chillicothe, Illinois. She was also a very loving grandmother and is survived by fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three
great-great-grandchildren.
