Ruby Leslie Stephens

Greenville - Ruby Leslie Stephens, 94, widow of Thomas W. Stephens, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Born in Pickens County on June 23, 1923 to the late David and Phoebe McCall Whitmire, she was retired from JP Stevens & Co and a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years.

Ruby is survived by a son, Nick Leslie (Genice), of Powdersville; three grandchildren, Ty Leslie, of Charleston, Mance Leslie, of Greenville, Glen Leslie (Sherida), of Atlanta; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Landon Leslie, of Atlanta; a sister, Ruth W. Masters, of Easley; and a daughter-in-law, Roylene Leslie Jenkins, of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Charles, Ralph and Danny Leslie, and Pat Stephens; and her brothers, Elmer, D.O. and Edward Whitmire.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel.

Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29617.
