Ruby Stewart

Stewart, Ruby (nee Woloshyn) - On September 16th 2022, at age 85, Ruby passed quickly with her husband John by her side at home. Married for 66 years, they were considered inseparable, and John kept his word of taking care of her until the very end. In 1937, just before World War II broke out in Europe, she was born in what was considered a battleground city, Pinsk (was Russia, now Belarus). At 3 months old, she arrived in Canada in the arms of her parents with her older brother Peter. She is predeceased by her father and mother Andrew and Olga Woloshyn, sister-in-law Carole (Peter) Woloshyn, and her niece Carole Hunt. She is survived by her husband John Stewart, children Bob (Cindi) Stewart, Brenda (Rick) Berg, Wendy (John) Innis, 5 grand-kids and 2 great-grand-kids, brothers Peter, Stan (Jeanette), Willie (Rose) Woloshyn, and sister Effie Woloshyn (Bill Noble). Ruby was an avid reader of mystery books, and the daily newspaper, and would not hesitate to tell you what was wrong with what and who were at fault for it! Although she enjoyed camping and traveling, she mostly loved being at home in Edmonton taking care of her family, and was one of a very few that preferred the winter over summer.
