Ruby L. Thaxton Turner

Ruby L. Thaxton Turner, 68, of Monessen, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in UPMC-McKeesport Hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1934, in West Newton, a daughter of the late George Arthur and Nancy L. Wells Thaxton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Turner. Survivors include one brother, Rodorthos Thaxton of McKeesport; two sisters, Viola Taylor and Rosie Jones, both of Detroit, Mich.; one uncle and aunt, J.D. Wells and Mabley Wells of Detroit, Mich.; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ROBERT A. WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 2326 Jenny Lind St., McKeesport. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Wilhelmina Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
