Rudolph MERVIN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 24, 2002.
MERVIN _ Rudolph (Rudy) Arnold Mervin, born January 20, 1939, Avonlea, Saskatchewan, passed to spirit July 9, 2002, Lake Louise, Alberta. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Rudy. Predeceased by father, Casper. Survived by mother, Catherine; son, John; long time friend and companion, Emily Hart; 1 brother; 5 sisters; nieces; nephews; many other family members, and too many friends to mention. Rudy worked for the CPR as a telegraph operator from approximately 1965-67 in Port Alberni. Then, travelling to Spain in 1968, he and Emily were married at the Great Cathedral in Marbella, Spain. After learning about leatherwork, they owned and operated a Leathercraft Boutique in Mijas, Malaga, Spain. Returning to Canada in 1978, he sold his leatherwork at the Abbotsford Flea Market from 1978 to 1998. Considered to be a great astrologer, he was an active member of the Fraser Valley Astrology guild for over a decade, and was resident astrologer for Phoenix Metaphysical Books and Reflections Bookstore. Service was held on Friday, July 19, 2002 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Aldergrove. Anyone wishing to do so, can make a donation to World Vision on behalf of Rudy. We will never forget Rudy's zest for life, infectious laugh, quick wit, soft voice, wise counsel, kindness to everyone he met, his poetry, stories and good conversation. He was central in the lives of so many and a friend of the most remarkable kind. RUDY WILL LIVE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
