Russell Farnsworth Obituary
Russ was a caring brother who cherished spending time with family and friends. He was a dedicated chef known for his culinary skills, especially when preparing food for special occasions and family gatherings. Russ worked at various restaurants in New London and the surrounding area. He was a passionate supporter of the UCONN men's and women's basketball teams, the Celtics, and The New England Patriots. Additionally, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and NHRA races, as well as Jackson Barrett Car Auctions and cooking shows.
Russell is survived by his brothers Robert (Bob) and Susan Farnsworth of Winter Springs, FL, and Mark and Sue Farnsworth of Preston, CT. He was preceded in death by his sister Diane O'Dell (Farnsworth) of St. Louis, MO, his father Rupert K. Farnsworth Jr. of Groton, CT, and his mother Barbara Newton Farnsworth of Groton, CT.
A Celebration of Life gathering and jam session in memory of Russell will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center.
