Grimmer, Russell E. Age 87 of Eagan, MN, World War II Fighter Pilot, peacefully passed away on January 13, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Eleanor "Ele"; children, Terri Grimmer, Judy (Jeff) Lippka, Jeff (Carol) Grimmer, Janet Monahan, Jim (Tiffany) Grimmer, Jim (Sharon) Koslowski, Jeanne (Denny) O'Brien, Nancy (Rick) Kochendorfer, Mike (Sandy) Koslowski; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle (Sylvia) Grimmer. Russell served in World War II as a Fighter Pilot, flying 92 missions. He was a salesman for much of his career, working for F.C. Hayer Company selling RCA products. He was an avid gardener and loved bowling, golf, and softball. Most of all he loved spending time with his extended family. Funeral Service 11 AM Tuesday, January 19, at KLECATSKY & SONS EAGAN CHAPEL, 1580 Century Pt. (Yankee Doodle at Coachman) Eagan. Visitation 5-7 PM Monday and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Special thanks for the excellent care given by Twin Cities Hospice and the staff at the Minnesota Veteran's Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
