Dear Barb and Rusty,

Although it's been many years since I've seen the two of you - I have run across Russ a couple of times - none of you have ever been forgotten. You both have my deepest sympathies and prayers.

Sorry I missed you at the funeral home.

My deepest sympathy to you in Russ's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Russ at Four Phase Systems in the early 80's, and found him to be a warm and caring person. He was also a wonderful teacher when I was trying to understand the complexities of the products we sold. And he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was such a nice man.

When my father passed away, someone sent me the following. I hope it comforts you as much as it did me.

A life well-lived doesn't end

Any more than music ends...

It echoes throught time

With whispers of beauty and grace

If we listen,

We can hear the encore with our hearts,

For the song plays on,

Just as love lives on.

Again, my condolences.

I am very saddened by this news. The short time I knew Russ, I grew to like and respect him very much. He was the rare combination of a very keen mind and a generous soul. I remember many conversations in which I caught him teaching this smart-alec a thing or two without lecturing or using it as an opportunity to prove his superior knowledge. It is a rare and great man who can use the Socratic method without condescension. I also appreciated his humor and wit, which led him to respond to trying situations with kindness and gentleness. If this man's passing has caused such sorrow on my part, I know it must be more so with those who loved him most. Take comfort that you can remember him with genuine affection.

Dear Barb & Rusty,

What a wonderful husband, father and a great friend. I had the pleasure of meeting Russ when we both worked in the Mowry Building. He was right across the hall. We had many conversations and a lot of laughs. He will be sorely missed. I know that I will miss him.

Barb, Russ, just remember on thing, "Time Becomes Your Friend." As you both know I try and live it every day. It's hard but God will see you thru. Russ will be in my prayers every day, right beside Ike.

Much Love,

Jeannine

I have known Mr. Holt since I was a little girl, and I'll never forget the many days I waited for him after service at Trinity for a hug. He had the ability to make everyone around him comfortable and his compassion was one of the most beautiful things about him. He will be missed dearly.

And to you, Mr. Holt - Thank you for all of your support in my many ventures. Einstein's picture remains a motivation still.

With love to his family,

Jennifer

Dear Barb and Rusty,

The world has lost one of the really "good guys". Thanks for sharing him with all of us who considered him a good friend. We will miss him very much and our prayers are with you both.

I remember the day Russ showed me how an analog modem worked, and how cool I thought it was (and in turn how cool he was). I always loved going to his house with my parents when I was a kid, there was always something cool to learn that we didn't have at our house.

Russ was a high school classmate of mine. West View High School, Class of '58. I believe the last time that I saw him was when I was in basic training at Fort Knox, Ky and his basic training class marched past our barracks. We met later in the Post Exchange. He was a great guy. My deepest sympathy to the Holt family! May God be with you in this time of grief!
