KIRKWOOD, Russell Swerbert "Russ" Call Sign- VE3RKB In hospital on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Billie (Giffin). Dear father of Valerie Kirkwood and Carolyn White. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Glenn (Amanda), Christopher (Stephanie Timmons), Brian (Heather Cranek) and Jonathan Jung; and great-grandchildren Ashley, Brody, Keegan, Emma and Camden. Predeceased by brothers Richard and John Kirkwood. Russ was proud of the accomplishments of his great-grandfather Alexander S. Kirkwood who headed the Royal Commission which led to the establishment of Algonquin Park. He was a volunteer firefighter in Richmond as well as a former member and Rector's Warden at St. John's Anglican Church and a proud longtime member of the Champlain Regional Repeater Association (VE3 STP Repeater Group). A reception will be held at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes 1610 Roger Stevens Dr., Kars on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. For those who wish, donations to the CNIB would be appreciated. Hi Valerie and Wilma, I'm sorry that I won't be able to visit on Saturday. I sent Valerie an email to share some thoughts. I will miss Russ, VE3RKB, very much. Hoping that fond memories and the love of family help you through this time of grief.
