Russell Thomas Lowery, 62, of Northeast Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and perseverance.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Russell is survived by his father William Louis Lowery and was preceded in death by his mother Leanne (Greer) Lowery. He graduated from Brookside High School in Sheffield Lake in 1981 and went on to become a Registered Nurse, finding deep fulfillment in his work within the Emergency Room. His compassion and dedication to helping others made him a beloved colleague and caregiver.

Russell found joy in life's simple pleasures-watching and discussing sports, sharing breakfast outings, savoring great coffee, helping others in their studies and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking Irish soda bread. He was an avid lover of music and film, and always ready with a funny story and a warm laugh. Above all, he cherished the companionship of his beloved cat, Elle, who was never far from his side.

He is survived by his children: Deirdre Lowery, Jack Lowery, and Clare Lowery; his stepchildren: Shannon Dunne and Sara Dunne; and his step-granddaughters: Kaylee Thompkins and Alana Thompkins. Russell was the eldest sibling to Cheryl E. Lowery, Karen L. Lowery, Louis W. Lowery (Melanie), and Timothy M. Lowery (Jennifer) and an uncle to many.

A private service will be held to honor Russell's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made online to the Steps of Faith Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing prosthetic care, hope, and comfort to amputees in need of financial support.

Russell's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and were lucky enough to share in his journey.
