STERLING, Ill. — Russell R. Reed, 93, died Thursday, June 26, 2008. He farmed for many years in Hopkins Township. Russell was born September 11, 1914, in Stainsleigh Alberta, Canada, the son of Charles F. and Etta (Royer) Reed. He married Evelyn Price on March 9, 1939, in Sterling. She preceded him in death on August 5, 1995. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Sterling. Survivors include two sons, Lyle Reed of Sterling and Donald (Bonnie) Reed of Morrison; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one sister, one brother, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be private with the Reverend Frank Berman, Interim Pastor, of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.Death date: June 26, 2008
