Russell Snapp Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 25 to Jul. 26, 2012.
Russell (Zac) Zachary Snapp, 21, died in an automobile accident in Fayetteville, NC on Sunday, July 22, 2012. For family and friends who want to share in the celebration of his life, visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 10 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Troy Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Zac is survived by his parents, Russell Snapp, Columbus, MS and Tammie Rice, Fayetteville, NC; sisters, T.J. Ward, Raleigh, NC and Lindsey "Ginger" Snapp, Columbus, MS; and grandfather, Talmadge Ward, Sr.; aunts, Susan Snapp and Tabatha Ward; uncles, James Snapp, Talmadge Ward, Jr., and Tas Ward; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Joan Snapp of Columbus, MS, and Rosalie Ward of Waynesville, NC. There are numerous others who, while not blood relatives, were nevertheless his family. You know who you are. Zac was born February 23, 1991, to Russell Snapp and Tammie Ward Snapp in Columbus, MS. He attended Annunciation Catholic School and Fayetteville Technical Community College. He made himself part of the family at Meridian Motorcycle in Fayetteville, NC where he worked as a salesperson and mechanic. Zac was a strong competitor who played soccer in Columbus; he enjoyed working on his motorcycles, cars, go-carts and anything mechanical that was either broken or which he thought could be made "better". Always smiling, Zac could brighten up anybody's day and make you laugh with his antics. He was a budding musician who enjoyed playing his guitar alone or with friends. This tragic loss is felt by so many, but his life has given us wonderful memories that are too beautiful to forget. We do not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And, in living, that you brought joy to so many. Pallbearers will be Anniah Lewis, Nick Robinson, Joe Sheppard, Brad Putnman, Evan Bailey, Zane Bailey, Ian Bailey, Mickey Earwood and James Snapp.

There's a special garden, where the trees of memory grow. Nutured by the kindness, and concern that good friends show. The roots are cherished memories, of good times in the past. The branches tender promises, that souls endure and last. It's a place of peace and beauty, where bright new hopes can start, It's memory's lovely garden that soothes the hearting heart.

May you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embraces of friends.

Zac was such a great part of our lives and we will miss him SO very much.
