I can't believe I just heard about Ruth's passing last September, although I was out of state a few months. I'm still in shock. I do remember she went through surgery for cancer about 10 years ago. I credit this beautiful, loving person with saving my life back in 2007 and continued to see her regularly until February of 2020. We saw each other in Bear Creek Park once, and as always, I reached out to hug her, but her rescue dog saw my move as aggression and locked onto my knee, leaving five deep puncture wounds. Knowing her love for the dog, I didn't report it or go to the hospital. What for? I had Ruth! Forever grateful to her for my continued good health and overcoming the dreaded lupus!!

My first memory of Dr Ruth was at my first AANP convention my fourth year of medical school 91. There was a group of womyn all hanging out together laughing and carrying on. I knew then they were my people. I went over and connected with them immediately forming friendships and bonds that would last for decades. I had left Colorado Springs to go to naturopathic medical school after 10 years about the same time that Ruth arrived to set up for practice. Meeting with her and seeing her office I knew that she would be very successful in this setting.
