Ruth Aronson Obituary
Ruth was born on March 29, 1930 to parents Maurice and Charlotte (Klein) Greenblott in Binghamton, N.Y. She and her three brothers (Bernie, Harvey, and David Greenblott) grew up in Binghamton and throughout her life she was a loving and caring sister to them.
Ruth was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and a member of Alpha Lambda Phi social sorority. Ruth earned her nursing degree at Binghamton General Hospital and throughout the years helped many people with her knowledge, wisdom, and kindness.
She married Morton Barry Aronson on July 30, 1949 and they raised their family in Towanda, Pa. Family was important to Ruth and her husband Barry. They always went out of their way to see family when they traveled, attended family simchas (affairs), and were always there when family needed them.
Ruth was an avid swimmer and loved playing cards with her friends. Bridge and Hand & Foot were some of her favorites. She also enjoyed playing golf at the Towanda Country Club and did so for many years.
Ruth is survived by sons and daughters in-law Mark and Leslie Aronson of Gilford, N.H., Brad and Patti Aronson of Towanda, Pa. and daughter Sandra and spouse Carolyn of Vancouver, British Columbia; grandchildren Scott and Doria Aronson, Brooke and Bradley McCreedy, Jared Aronson, Seth Aronson and fiancé Meghan Peck, Avi Aronson, Sydney and Chris McKenzie, Joshua and Caroline Aronson, Michelle Aronson, and Jasmine Quirt; great grandchildren Nico and Rocco Aronson, Jack, Griffin, and Grace McCreedy.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday Jan. 18, 2016 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, followed by interment at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Towanda. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Hospital, 91 Hospital Drive, Towanda, PA 18848. Memories and condolences may be expressed by visiting www.bowenfuneralhomes.com.
