Dear family and friends of Ruth -

I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Ruth at the "Final Bell" day at North Catholic High last summer - and we attended Mass, and then caught up on so many events and people. She also knew my late wife Darlene(Rotthoff) Byrnes in grade school and high school..and we spoke of the evil cancer that has devastated so many of us. I am so very sorry to now hear this news (via North Catholics alumni news) and wish I had known sooner.
Rest in peace, Ruth - and I know you can now reconnect to Darlene in heaven !

Sarah and Family, I was very sad to hear about the passing of Ruth. Although we had never met, I could see that she was a very vibrant women who was well loved. I hope all of those photos and the stories attached to them will serve as comfort for all of you and those memories will be what you hold onto in the years to come. Marlene Belasco

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Ruth at Duquesne. Her positivity and friendliness will truly be missed. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

To the family and friends of Ruth, especially my dear friend Alice Mckillop. We know we have lost a treasure. Our lives will forever be better for knowing her and feeling her love, generosity and gentle spirit. Her grace and dignity throughout her illness is an inspiration to everyone. Ruth never complained and was always there to help someone else with no thought for herself. Her love for her family and others was unconditional and never ending. You deserve to be in heaven Ruth but we will miss you so much. Amy Gantzer (AKAREDS).

I've known Ruthie since she was 12 years old. In high school, I chose her to be my little sister. We've been friends ever since. The last 10 years, she has been my traveling partner in group of 7 women from high school who go on two girls' trips per year. She is so thoughtful and so much fun to be with. She made these trips such a joy for the rest of us. She can never be replaced, and she will never be forgotten. I believe, as Ruth did, that "love never ends". So until I see you again, Ruthie, Rest in Peace. I love you.

To my sweet cousin, Ruth...you are & will always be missed - knowing you was a privilege. You were a great example of how we all should be, your kindness & generosity seemed never ending and you were always so humble. I felt like I was just getting to really know you. Love you so much, Ruth, but I know we will all meet again someday.
