Ruth at her 100th birthday party
Clinton Baller
September 3, 2019
Throughout my childhood, every Christmas Day was spent on Highfield Lane with Cousin Ruthie (my mother, Helen Baller, was Ruth's first cousin). When I was in elementary school, I required frequent visits to an allergist in Manhattan. Many of those visits included fancy lunches at fine restaurants with Cousin Ruth. She was so gracious. My wife, Judy, and I recently moved into a 93-year-old tudor home in Michigan. An important room will be a small library-cum-pub, and the centerpieces of the room will be a pair of architectural wood carvings that my parents obtained from the Greenwich estate of Mr. Grant. Last year, after we reconnected at Ruth's 100th birthday, we visted her on a very hot day in summer. She invited my step-daughter Nina, an aspiring cartoonist, to go through the house and grab up anything that interested her. Nina chose a small stack of Stanley's treasured paperback Peanuts books. Ruth was delighted to have them in good hands.

We've know Ruth and Stan over 50 years. They played and important part in our lives. We shared many wonderful times with them. They were truly caring and giving people. We feel like we have lost a member of our family. Ruth was an magnificent woman and we will never forget her. Frank and Cindy Stagnitta

Such a gracious spirit, such a wonderful lady, Mrs. Bedford will be missed by the Brothers of Alpha Chi Rho, whom she served so well for so many years. It was always a treat to interact with her at HQ in Neptune. She was truly special.
