I was on the Board of Directors of the Nepean Museum for many years. Ruth was a fiesty, dedicated volunteer there who made lasting contributions. It was a pleasure to know her. One year, she opened the doors of Fairfields for a tour and I got to see some of her collections.

Ruth was a wonderful, lively and witty woman. Her interest in people and music was so wonderful to behold. Her contributions to this world are many and she leaves the world a much better place because she lived.

She gave an inspirational speech on "volunteerism " at my 1977 Call to the Bar ceremony at the NAC. I never forgot it. She was a great speaker.

I had the pleasure and honor to know Dr. Ruth Bell for many years. She was truly an amazing and remarkable person. I met her at Ottawa Chamberfest about 7 years ago, and we had tea every other week. I have learned immensely from this woman.

My deepest condolences and may God bless you and her family in this difficult time. Her kind, generous, loving spirit will be missed.

We enjoyed immensely getting to know Ruth in 2003 and then visiting with her in her home and having her visit ours. We had many laughs telling stories, jokes and reading from books and the newspaper for her. Ruth enjoyed sharing treats from Tim Hortons and exchanging stories about cats. We will miss her.
