Dear Karen, Janet and Family,

I have so many fond memories of Ruthy. There was no one that was a better judge of character than my dad Bill Barr, he absolutely loved and respected Ruthy and of course BRO was one of his dearest friends. Whenever I think of Ruthy I remember all the wonderful memories our family shared together. May god bless Ruthy and your family.

I love seeing this picture of your mother, and I can hear her distinctive voice, bidding me a friendly welcome whenever we came over. Like my sister Colleen, I have fond memories of learning to can peaches, and sampling her delicious cooking. She was a spirited, lovely woman, someone right out of central casting as the perfect neighbor!
My sympathies to you both in your time of loss; may her memory and love be with you.

Dear Karen and Janet,
How lucky my family was to live right across the street from the Brovellis for so many years. We enjoyed the friendship of your parents, as well as the produce from their garden! Your mother was like a favorite aunt to my children and she was my neighborhood companion. We enjoyed many walks together, especially up Blackstone Canyon. I feel so very fortunate to have known her. My love and sympathy to you and all of your family.

It was with great sadness that I heard from my mom and Babe Bettini about your mother's passing yesterday. She was such a huge part of my childhood! I will always grateful that Ruth was there for the Beery kids as much as her own. From her I learned how to make fresh lemonade, can peaches, make a layer cake, and weave a Swedish straw ornament from Ruth. Besides teaching those domestic skills, I always knew I was welcome at your home across the street, and enjoyed talking with her after I moved away and came back to visit.
