Ruth Bugin

1925 - 2014
Ruth Bugin died March 7, 2014 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born on July 20, 1925 in the Bronx, N.Y. to Sadie and Isadore Bugin. She resided in New York City until the early 1970's when she moved permanently to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She loved living in "paradise", as she called it. There she enjoyed golfing, dancing, socializing with her many friends, and traveling the world with her late longtime boyfriend, Bob Babcock. In 2011, Ruth had a severely debilitating stroke and came back to New York State to reside at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany.



She is survived by her son, Bill Cohen ( Myra Nathan) of Delmar, N.Y; her daughter, Candice Sabatini( Anthony) of NYC, NY;her granddaughter , Kristina Cohen of Delmar, NY,; her sister-in-law, Aphrodite Bugin;and her step grandchildren Jennifer Nathan ( Richard Orris) of Asheville, N.C. and Will Nathan of NYC, N.Y.



Ruth spent the last three years of her life under the loving and compassionate care of the staff at St. Peters Nursing Home. Despite her paralysis and inability to speak, Ruth retained her charm and an amazing amount of wheelchair mobility. She communicated with staff and residents with her smiles and expressions, and she never lost her sense of humor. Her son and daughter were with her frequently and she continued her joy of shopping with outings at the mall with her daughter.
