Ruth Buzzi Obituary
Ruth Buzzi, an actress and comedian best known for her time on the variety show "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In," died May 1, 2025 at her home in Stephenville, Texas in her sleep at the age of 88.
Buzzi was already a union actress before she even graduated from Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts, doing live musical comedy, performing off-Broadway in New York, and eventually making her way to television. She had early appearances on "The Steve Allen Comedy Hour," but it was her work on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" that won her national recognition. She appeared in every episode of the variety show across all six seasons, the only player to do so. Her work there earned her five Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe in 1973. Buzzi was a regular on "Sesame Street" in the 1990s and made appearances on such shows as "That Girl," "The Carol Burnett Show," "CHiPs," and "7th Heaven." She also did extensive voice acting for shows like "Alvin & The Chipmunks," "Paw Paws," "The Berenstain Bears," and many others.
Fans flooded her Facebook page with fond memories of the laughs she gave them. "I always laughed when Artie Johnson would whisper inappropriate 'sweet nothings' in her ear, and she would club him with her purse!" Tim Bowman said, while Rich Shivers joked, "Because of her, I was afraid to get near any lady with her hair pulled back in a net and had a big handbag."

Celebrate the life of talented funny comedian lady she will be truly missed, yet, never be forgotten by everyone. I truly believed that everyone watched her on Laugh-In that she did the skits specially, the one she played the old lady that she sat on the bench in old guy was sitting right next to her, she hit him with him with her handbag, along with Artie Johnson. Also, she appeared on That Girl playing Ann Marie ( Marlo Thomas) next neighbor she appeared on other TV shows to. We all know that she´s in a good place now, has reunited with Laugh-In cast. May her soul still lives on as her Body return eternal Heaven back home. RIP May she along with the cast of Laugh-In do the skits for up there: My thoughts, prayers are with you you.

My deepest condolences to the Perkins family. Ruth Buzzi was a true artist and I have enjoyed watching her on TV for many years. I remembered her recently about 6 or 7 years ago sitting at the table next to me at a restaurant near her home. I wished I could have said hi to her then. She will always be remembered.
