RUTH SACKS CAPLIN Champion of the Arts
Ruth Sacks Caplin, arts advocate and multi-talented artist, died August 5, 2014. She was 93.Ruth is survived by her husband of 72 years, Mortimer M. Caplin; four children, Lee, Michael, Jeremy, Cate; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Conrad, Ella, Bennett, Sophie, Phoebe, Aubrey and Harriet; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Carter, and a legion of devoted friends. A celebration of Ruth Caplin's life will be held Saturday, August 9, 3 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House, Sidwell Friends School, 3825 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016. Parking available on site.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that gifts in memory of Ruth Caplin may be made to Caplin Guest Artist Endowment Fund at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.

Mr. Caplin: Jeffery Vitt and I knew your daughter very well. I last saw you and Ruth at the Horse Show in Windsor, England. My wife and I are very sorry at the loss of your wonderful Ruth.
