Ruth Copeland Obituary

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Ruth Styles Copeland, 88, Gallant, who died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008. The Rev. Charles Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Conn Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.

Mrs. Copeland was a member of Clear Creek Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, David H. Copeland; parents, James Thomas Styles and Pluma Styles; sisters, Audry Blackwell, Gertrude Jones, Ruby Freeman, Beatrice Kelly and Dorothy Findley; and brothers, Ira Styles, J.T. Styles and Roland Styles.

She is survived by her sons, Donald R. (Dianne) Copeland, Rainbow City, Melvin C. (Juanita) Copeland, Ivalee; daughter, Janet (Roger) Winningham, Thorsby; grandchildren, Rhonda Hall, Dedra Rasbury, Jason Copeland, Michael Copeland, Tammy Copeland, Brett Winningham, Victoria Winningham; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to Clear Creek Methodist Church or Conn Cemetery.

Special thanks to Dr. Debora Reiland, New Beacon Hospice, Jennifer and the others who provided loving care.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

Our condolences to Ruth's family. She was always there for us whenever we visited the family in Alabama. I know she will be missed as she was such a wonderful, thoughtful person.
