In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Ruth Daivs is my mommaw. When I think about her only one word can come to mind, Love. She loved like I have never seen. As a christian, I believe that this bible verse describes every aspect about my mommaw, though it is usually used at weddings or celebrations, it will forever describe my Mommaw.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. . .And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." - excerpts from 1 Corinthians 13:4-13

My dear mommaw, I will love you and remember you always, you will never die in my heart.

Ruth Davis was one of those amazing people you're lucky to encounter once in a lifetime. She was a hard working woman who loved God, her family, and her friends.
I may have only been a granddaughter by marriage, but she never treated me as anything less than family.
She was a selfless 'giver' and a gentle spirit. She will be sorely missed by those of us that were priveleged to know and love her, but will always be in our hearts. She was a great example of what we all should be in our Christian walk on this earth. She leaves an amazing legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Heaven gained a special angel when she went home Tuesday.
I will miss you Mommaw.
