Ruth Helen Medford Davis, age 84, of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Davis was born in Haywood County to the late Rufus and Sadie Medford Medford. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of the Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Davis will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Vicki Davis Young, Susan Davis Harold and husband Larry; two grandchildren, Amanda Young Cobler and husband Chris, Amber Amburn; two great-grandchildren, Kaylen Grace Cobler, Trinity Haven Cobler; along with ten nieces and seven nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, William Grady "Buddy" Davis Jr.; four sisters, Wilma Medford Francis, Myrtle Medford Sawyer, Ethel Medford Trammell, Patsy Medford Cravey; four brothers, Willard Medford, Earl Medford, David Medford, and Robert Medford. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Mount Airy Wesleyan Church in Mount Airy with Rev. Richard Loman and Rev. Eric Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Mount Airy Wesleyan Church in Mount Airy from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donation may be made to Mount Airy Wesleyan Church, 2063 South Main Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Davis family. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
