In memory of my beautiful father, Robert Francis Chaiken. I miss having your big self on the planet with me, and know you live on in my heart and in my soul. All the best of me—my courage and curiosity—comes of my coming from you.

Was just thinking about Bob today. Our sympathy, We didn't know. I remember his soft, raspy voice. We had many fine dinners together with Bob and Marilyne. Especially noted was a dinner at our house when Marilyne put a high-hatted MD guest in his proper place. Rah.

I was a project engineer under Bob while at the Pittsburgh Research Center from 1984-90. I was blessed to have known him and to discuss his many projects such as "Albright". He always had a gleam in his eye when bragging on his wife and lovely daughters. He will be missed.

I always liked him: Gruff and kind, and a smile that overtook his whole body. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

I also had the pleasure of working with Bob at the Bureau of Mines. He was a talented theoretician and helpful to others. Bob will be missed. My condolances to your family.

To the Chaiken Family,
We bought Bob's house here in the Village of Shadyside. Although we only met several times, Bob was most gracious about letting us look at the house while we were deciding. We are sorry to hear of his passing. We send our condolences to all of you.

I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. I had the previledge of working with Bob at the Bureau of Mines and provided contract support for his research projects. Bob was highly respected by his coworkers here in Pittsburgh. My condolances to your family.
