RUTH PASTORE Obituary
RUTH
Of White Oak, formerly of Clairton, passed from this life into the loving arms of her Lord on February 15, 2018, after a decade of courageously battling cancer. She was born in Philadelphia the daughter of the late Daniel and Rose (Gentile) Pastore. Ruth's love of community defined her. She was a selfless public servant, leader, mentor and advocate for the greater good. She dedicated her life to the Clairton Crime Watch and serving the Democratic 45th Senatorial District as a Democratic State Community Member. She loved being a mom and being with her family. She enjoyed going to political events, Tony Bennett concerts and dancing. She had a taste for Italian food, banana splits and, especially Mallow Cups. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Anthony Picciafoco, Jr.; and brothers, Daniel and Dominic Pastore. Ruth is survived by her six daughters, Dana Piper, Marion Beech (Glenn), Angle Michanowicz (Andy), Antoinette Tour, Laura Picciafoco Brown (Kevin), Lisa Piccini (Garry); siblings, Carl, Tony and Richard Pastore and Madeline Nistico (Joseph); 13 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the DANIEL F. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4504 Walnut Street, Versailles Boro, McKeesport, PA 15132, 412-678-3454, on Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 2 - 8 p.m. Funeral Services at Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak Monday, February 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. Burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 810 River Ave., Suite 140, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

My Friend Ruth was a "SPECIAL & WONDERFUL PERSON"! I'm so fortunate & Blessed To have known her for near 40 years! I've been her hairstylist & ALWAYS looked forward to her hair appointments, as I would schedule her to be last so we could have uninterrupted time to talk & enjoy her company, many times after doing her hair, we would go out to have something to eat! I will miss her greatly, she was like family & a TRUE FRIEND!!!! I know she's in a good place now & in no more pain, but that doesn't ease the feeling of loss or the void it leaves! LOVE & MISS YOU RUTH! I Thank God & You for the Friendship & the pleasure of having had you in my life! I know You're at Peace now & I'm happy for You! One day we'll see each other again ( NOT TOO SOON, I hope for my sake, LOL!) but until then, enjoy HEAVEN & know you'll be missed by MANY!!!! ❤ Bob!

Ruth was a great friend and advisor on this journey and I am ever grateful for her kindness and loyalty. I pray that we can all have a strong woman like Ruth in our lives because they can make all the difference. My family extends our thoughts and prayers to Ruth's family at this time.
