Ruth Constance Stein passed away peacefully June 5, 2012 at Care One in Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, Ruth resided in Great Neck, Long Island before moving to Old Bridge in 1990. She worked as an office manager for 30 years for Dr. Harold Swartz in New York before retiring in 1978. Ruth was an awesome mother and grandmother, and loved her family very much. She was also an avid animal lover and supported various animal associations, especially the Doris Day Animal League.

Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Levinson, in 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Stein, and her grandsons, Shea Merritt and Joseph Fasano.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 08, 2012 at 1pm at Beth Abraham Cemetery, 617 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.hegartyfuneralhome.com.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory to the Doris Day Animal League, 2100 L Street, Washington,
DC, 20037 or online at ddal.org, or any other animal advocacy group.

As Ruth came into the theatre setting to see her daughter a featured dancer, her face would lite up with a radiant smile we can NEVER forget. A sweet, warm woman of unusual charm. RIP dearest lady. Larry/Joe
