Just seeing this. I was 23 when I took a job in Saudi Arabia at an English language newspaper. I met Ruth and she was kindly included me on many activities and conversation during the short time I was in Jeddah. Thank you Ruth and peace.

It has been a year without Ruth. When I see the bottle of olive oil, when I sprinkle zatar on the food cooking in the pan, or when I see a good movie that I want to discuss I think of her and see her smile. Francine Butler, Shema Global

Dearest Ruth, you have been a part of Canaan as long as I have. What laughs, what good times, and good work we did together over these seventeen plus years. You are simply the best Ambassador Palestine could have. Thank you. Now you are dancing with the angels. You are loved here and in Palestine, you made a big difference in both places, and you will be missed forever.

Ruth was a great lady whom I admired greatly. I first met her at the Willoughby Farmers Market where she was selling and educating the Palestine olive oil. I invited her to come to our Fair trade boutique at Church of the Resurrection which she did. She not only sold so much oil that day but also met so many connections and friends that day and was a familiar face at every fair trade event. Her passion, enthusiasm and dedication will continue to inspire me. Glad she touched my life

I am in shock and disappointed at my tardiness...I had Ruth on my list of people to call today. So many good memories of Ruth sharing tea and her knowledge and experiences . She lived in Bedford NY for a time -- and part of the time in a house opposite the entrance to our daughter's street. I'm glad it will be a continuing reminder of her. Her steadfast ways are a model for the rest of us. Peace to her family and all she touched.

When Ruth joined our CPA Middle East Peace Committee, there was often much contention and arguing, but Ruth was a voice for peace and understanding, and her presence was calming yet determined.

Met Ruth in Cleveland few years ago at a JVP event and guess what. I managed to get some delicious Palestinian Olive Oil from her. Did not have a chance to spend more time with her and wish I did to hear about her stories in person. May God bless her soul and accept her in his highest heavens .

When I was very lost and scared, when I was grieving, Ruth was there for me. She reminded me that, In ourselves, we can be more than enough, we can hold laughter and pain at the same time. She was a gift to the world. I will forever miss her.

Remembering how, when I bought Palestinian olive oil from her, she was warm and sincere yet low key . . . quietly impressing us with the justice of the cause. Rest in peace, Ruth.

Ruth was a gentle and loving person, determined for justice, fair treatment and peace in Palestine and Israel. She was tireless in her distribution of Fair Trade products including Palestinian olive oil. She is missed.

I had the pleasure of working along side of Ruth many times during our Fair Trade Events over the years! I will miss her passion she shared with her Canaan Olive Oil and spices! Very kind woman with a kind heart!

We met Ruth at Fair Trade events. We loved the olive oil, tapenades, and zatar. We talked movies together, and enjoyed theater performances. We shall miss that generous, sweet soul. Mark and Francine Butler, Shema Global

Oh, Ruth. What a warm loving soul. My heart breaks that I didn´t heed my desire to see you this fall. Ruth always made me feel special and I loved how everyone was your dear friend. We worked together on Palestinian rights in many ways, shared a few meals and tea and fair trade events. Every connection was a blessing. I will miss your smile and warm presence and generous convictions.
